Pad Himapan (Chicken Cashew Nut Stir Fry) was pretty tasty. I couldn't compare this with other Thai restaurant because I have not had the same dish before. The waiter recommended this to me (he also recommended the Red Curry if I wanted a curry dish). I like it. It was tasty and the chicken was tender. I don't usually like broccoli but the broccoli in this dish were so soaked with the the spices, I ate them anyway. I just wished they threw in a spring roll and a small salad or soup like they do in Thai Village. My dish just came with white Jasmine rice.The service was good, but then we were the only customers in that Thursday afternoon.The price was cheap, only about 9 bucks for a full lunch. I think I will come here again but I feel that I will go to Thai Village for the next Thai food outing in this region.

Wonderful! I recommend it for the price. Service was a bit slow, but that was because it was so busy. TomKa Kai soup was mild, but good. All the ingredients were fresh except the lettuce in the spring/fresh roll. Mango sticky rice was heavy on the syrup, but still amazing. Mango Stir fry was very fresh - loved it! It's nice to support a little hole in the wall. Seemed like great people working hard.

So I saw the sign for Aiyara whilst driving, and knew my husband and I had to try it. He LOVES Thai food, and to find a great Thai place close to us would be awesome. It's definitely a good thing they have a sign out by Blockbuster, or we would have never known it was there. On to the food. I, being the white girl I am, decided against something too spicy. I ordered the Pad Si Ew (I think that's what it was called...it was the Pad Thai with the soy sauce.) I thought it was very good! It had great flavor, the chicken was cooked well, the noodles weren't overly done. I would definitely give it two thumbs up. My husband ordered the Spicy Pad Ped, and had it with 2 star spicy level. (Oh yeah, they have a spice meter in the back of the menu, 1-4 stars, which you can choose for your meal for some entrees.) He enjoyed it, but thought it was very spicy. I tried it, and I thought it was delicious. But way too spicy for me. Overall, it was a great Thai meal! Prices are reasonable too. They have a lunch special for $6 or $7, and the normal prices are $10ish per meal. The owners are also very nice! We are definitely going to visit this restaurant again.

Hmmmmmm. I cannot decide if this restaurant deserves one or two stars. Either way I will never be back. It wasn't gross, it just wasn't good. I can see how some people might like it that do not normally like Thai food. Maybe because it doesn't really taste much like Thai food. Thai Food is supposed to be about balance of sweet, sour, salty and bitter. This food was sweet and... bland. My husband and I tried the Pad Thai, Massaman curry, and Tomka Kai soup. -The Pad Thai was more on the Chinese lo mein side- I like Chinese lo mein but this wasn't even GOOD Chinese lo mein- just super mediocre. -The Massaman tasted just like Skippy's smooth peanut butter (or some other crappy peanut butter made with hydrogentaed oil) and honey made into a sauce (I bet there is someone out there that would think it's the best ever for that reason). It was too sweet and they must have forgotten to add the Massaman curry. -The Tomka Kai soup, which was the best out of everything didn't have much flavor. *Everything tasted like it was missing ingredients. Curry paste? lemon grass? fish sauce? tomato? lime? cilantro? seriously? You call yourself authentic? Hmmm. I ate the soup the next day, which again wasn't bad, but I need to enjoy what I am eating so I had to add ingredients. The rest of the leftovers (which I hardly partook of the night before) my husband ate by himself and maintained it wasn't that good. He doesn't mind as much eating mediocre food or possibly putting crappy peanut butter into his body. It's possible this restaurant had a bad night and ran out of ingredients on THE night the worlds biggest food critic would be trying their food. Oh luck. I am left thinking this restaurant is for old people. or something.

As far as Thai food goes, this place is just eh....they do have a cheap $6 lunch special so I give them props for being cheap, but you get what you pay for. I've only eaten there once but have heard from several others that their experience was as mediocre as mine. If you're really, really craving Thai and can't scrounge up another dollar or two to eat somewhere else, then you should eat here. Recommend: Massaman Curry....I guess

Overall, my favorite Thai place. The owners are so friendly and I don't care about fancy tables, just fancy cuisine. I has the soup of any Thai Restaurant I've tried, the Coconut Soup. Also recommend the Red or Yellow Curries with or without Pineapple. The Sweet Sticky Rice Mango for dessert can be shared by two (unless you want a lot of dessert). I've eaten at 39 Thai Restaurants mainly in Utah, but a few in California, Washington, and Wash. DC. All Thai places were good to great, as long as the cook is Thai. I don't go for the authentic spice level as it's too hot for my digestion. Levels are from 0 to 10 here. I ask for a 2 unless I have a cold and get for a 4 (that clears out the problem).

It takes an amazing restaurant to get 5 stars from me, so don't let the lack of the 5th star scare you away. I think Aiyara in terms of quality divided by cost boosted by atmosphere and service multipliers scores higher than all of the other Thai restaurants I've tried in Utah Valley. The food was beautifully presented and everything was as fresh and high a quality as I could have hoped for. The red curry and spring rolls were almost too beautiful too eat, but thankfully I dove in and was not disappointed. The prices too were very reasonable (unlike the nearby Thai Village in American Fork that caused me sticker shock and Thai House in Lehi whose pineapple curry was so spicy, my wife will never try that again). Their location is terrible (an old, small shopping strip), which detracts from this being a great place to bring a romantic date. But the owners are friendly and attentive and know how to cook.

Just finished eating here for the first time. NEVER AGAIN! Is so frustrating how here in Utah is so hard to find real Thai food ugh. I have been in thailand several times and I'm not expecting the same but damn this was bad everything. Bad service, not clean. The soup just call it that please don't call it Tom Yum because it is not! Ugh

Went here for lunch, had the green curry, coconut soup, and fried potstickers. It's not a big helping, but it was good, and fresh. Not my favorite green curry - this is more the style with the same chunks of carrot and potato and whatnot that you would get in the massaman. Still a good flavor though. But it was fast and reasonably priced. I wouldn't complain about going here again. I was interested enough to look around for a takeout menu, which didn't appear to exist.

The heat scale here is 1star to 5star - with 5 being the hottest. I had them make my curry a 7star. It felt like I was eating IcyHot - but I finished my meal. But what goes in, must come out - and I'm not looking forward to dropping a 7star deuce :(

We are so sad about our experience. From canned fruit to nasty bathrooms! Wish I had seen the bathroom before ordering. Our spring rolls were so over cooked it was inedible. The mango rice dessert was NOT made today. Stale rice cheap vanilla ice cream and canned mango. Very sad. Please clean your bathrooms. My wife became sick after eating your food. Very sad she had to be sick in such a dirty bathroom. Slow service and all around just a sad attempt. Please people check your bathroom before ordering. They even water down the soap. Cheap cheap cheap. Nasty nasty nasty. Wondering how this place is in business.

I love their lunch specials. All the curry I have had there has been tasty. I also enjoy their Thai Basil and pineapple fried rice. Mango sticki rice with ice cream is a must! They run out of a few items and I sometimes have to ask for a little extra sauce for something but for lunch they are perfect.

We love this place. I'm addicted to the Peanut Curry and my husband always orders the red or yellow curry. We eat here almost once a week, usually taking it home. I wish they delivered, but I'm happy to drive over and pick it up. It's SO good.

We just moved to AF from SLC. We have a few favorites up there so we are on a hunt for or go to Thai down here. This place is not it. Hubby got pad thai- he always orders that everywhere we go. In his words: "I.can' t.eat .this." he said the noodles and sauce were just off. I got the Massman curry with pork. It had those strange, crinkle cut carrots in there, the pork was so chewy I gave it to my dog, and the sauce really did taste like peanut butter, as another poster warned. I always get this dish every where I go but this has to be the worst I've tasted. We will not be going back. Sad because it is really close to my house and I hate to give such a bad review but it was really not good.

This place is good. Not sure what happened on the negative reviews but we had a good experience. Massaman had a good savory flavor and thick consistency... I hate water curry. Pot stickers and salad were decent. Close to home so will probably come back.

My husband and I come here frequently and love it. We are never disappointed and have ordered numerous things on the menu. This place is much better than any other thai food around the area contrary to what people say. It is not the most decorative or hip place, but if you are looking for tasteful food, come here! The owners are the cutest and nicest people. It takes a normal amount of time to get food which is what I like so I know it is cooked fresh and I can have nice conversation with the people I came with. I love this place! Also their pumpkin curry is delicious!

We cannot figure out how we have missed this little gem! The Lard Naa and Yellow Curry were so delicious. We only got a medium Tom Kha Gai, (should have gotten a large), and it was truly the best we have ever had. We have been to several Thai restaurants and this one has our votes!! I cannot figure out what the negative comments are about. Our vegetables were very fresh and we've been to several Thai places in SLC that don't hold a candle to Aiyara! Definitely coming back SOON!! Love it!

We went here tonight after reviewing recommendations online. We got massaman curry, pineapple curry, and pad Thai. The massaman curry was the best by far, followed by the pad Thai and then the pineapple curry. Small portions leave you a bit hungry. Nothing was memorable and we like the Thai Village in AF a lot better.

I wish I could simply focus on how wonderful this food was. Seriously...some good Thai food at this place. BUT.... REAL BAD service experience. And I am really easy to please. But once out food was dropped off we didn't get any attention for the next 40 min. We even held our glasses in the air indicating we needed some refills...the server was going to almost every other table several times, even looked at us a couple times not 3 feet away...we had our glasses in the air for 10 minutes and nothing. After 25 minutes, half our party left because they were tired of waiting for the check...we waited 15 more minutes, just sitting at the table and finally decided to approachi the manager. We explained the poor service, then the server LIED and said he'd filled our glasses several times. When we got upset and stated we shouldn't be paying for our full meal and tried to offer what we felt was reasonable, the owner threatened to call the police! As we were walking out, another table who had also been ignored agreed with our review.... a shame that such poor service will mean we won't be coming back because they really do have great food.

I heard such good things about this place, but I found the food to just be totally bland and flavorless. The reviews came from a person whose food taste I normally trust, so we tried it two more times in hopes it was just an off night. Nope, still bland. I normally LOVE Tom Kha (soup), I didn't even LIKE it here. Bleh. Three strikes you're out- sorry!

I will admit to not knowing a thing about Thai food other than the fact that I like eating it. I will also admit that I find the omnipresence of Thai food around here more than a little bit bewildering. not that I'm complaining. I'm cool with another Thai restaurant. cool with and confused by, as always. the massaman at Aiyara did not blow me away, nor did the soup or the two spring rolls, but at $6 I was more than content with what I received for lunch. next time I will ask them to up the spiciness factor by a few stars, but there will most certainly be a next time which is kind of a big deal seeing as I am holding a bit of a grudge for their having displaced a taqueria with a funny name. the service was aggressively friendly and attentive, which may have helped quell any lingering spite. update (as an edit and not an update): asking for more spicy was enough to warrant an additional star. everything I have eaten has been good and the service has been great.

I love this place!!! The hostess is the cutest lady you have ever met!!! I have had better Thai in Salt Lake City but the environment here and the owners make this place really special! I can't recommend this place enough! If I could adopt the hostess i would!

Being Thai and knowing what authentic Thai food tastes like, this is the closest restaurant in Utah that tastes like my moms! I always recommend Aiyara when people ask me for good Thai food. A lot of "Thai" restaurants in Utah are owned by Laotian people so the flavors aren't quite there and it's not really Thai food but everyone is so sweet here and everything is delicious!

Love this place! The food and service is excellent! So glad they are so close-this is our favorite place to get curry. My husband and I like to try out new curry places but we always end up back here. I really like the sauce that they use-I always get yellow curry and my husband gets the red. Also I feel like they include more meat than other curry places we go to.

We are new to Utah, went Friday night hoping for some decent Thai food. Although the food was not totally tasteless, the sanitation and service were completely unacceptable. Dirty dishes on every table with no attempt to catch up on clearing and cleaning. We were served the wrong dish as we ordered tofu and got chicken. While we were picking through it trying to figure out the mix up, the dish was removed and taken to another table. We had already picked out and eaten a piece of chicken to see if it was misshapen tofu! Ew. This restaurant is too disorganized and understaffed to be serving the public food. So disappointed because we tried that other Thai restaurant down the street in the cute little house, and their pad Thai bears no resemblance to the real dish. Frustrated!

This place is much better than the Thai place down the street in the cute house. It's a hole in the wall, but the dishes are good quality. It's hard to find Thai that knocks your socks off here, but this is on the better end of Utah Valley options.

This is one are the best Thai places I have eaten at. while the location seems kind of sketchy, this is a case of not judging a book by its cover. We have been there twice now and in our opinion the food is excellent. I have had pad thai and their fried rice . Both were excellent. My wife has had coconut chicken soup and also one of their curry dishes(I'm not a fan of curry) and she says they are excellent. Highly recommend.

I give this Thai Restaurant a conservative 4 stars, mainly because I talked my wife into going, and prior to entering, I told her that if she didn't like it, I would never take her to another Thai restaurant again, unless of course it was by her choosing. In the past, her Thai food experiences have not really gone to her liking, so I was hoping for a successful ending in which I could at least mentally, book a return trip to this diner. Upon entering, there was nothing really to be said of the decor. It was rather dull and not a lot going on. Only one other couple was within it's small dining area, so first impression was not the greatest. The other couple seemed to be enjoying themselves however. Having previously lived in Arizona, I had a very close friend that owned a Thai restaurant, and I enjoyed her pad very much. So much so that I basically judge my Thai food experiences to hers. So, we made our order, and was served rather quickly, in that I wasn't so sure the food was made fresh. Presentation which is important to me was a little sub par. I ordered the beef with broccoli plate, and my lovely wife ordered a cashew chicken plate. Each looked to be adorned with fresh vegetables, however, the beef on my plate looked to be a slight bit washed out. Sort of like it was steamed, rather than wok fried or even broiled and then sliced. That to me was a little bit of a turn off at first, so my taste expectations had dropped a couple of notches. After serving up the bed of Jasmine rice, and then the entrée on top, I began eating it. I was pleasantly surprised that the taste was better than I had thought it might be. Juices were savored throughout the dish, and it was quite good on the palate. I then had a small serving of my wifes ordered meal, and I too was pleased with the overall taste of her dish. My wife gave it a thumbs up, so based upon her approval, I strongly endorse all to give this place a try. I'm guessing most will like it as well. The waitress who appeared to be part of the family that runs the place, was very friendly, and cute. My wife thinks she was really sweet. She was very attentive, but not overly attentive. The inside could use a makeover , and upgraded. I about went crazy due to a ceiling fan, which was turning rapidly, was so far out of balance, it clacked the entire time we dined. I'm sure with more time and success, this restaurant if given the luck of remaining open, will eventually upgrade, and could become a quaint little place to enjoy a lovely meal for years to come.

Everything was delicious. It was made fresh because it took a little time to get our food. I had the sweet and sour soup while the wife had the coconut soup. We had never had coconut soup, highly recommended. We then had cashew chicken and broccoli beef. Both had great flavor and fresh vegetables.
